Situated around Cane Creek Lake, this park is a great place to increase your activity with a little bit of walking and experience nature in all its glory. There are numerous trails of varying distances you can choose from, or simply wander around a bit and take in the sights. If you love water, this area should really be an inspirational place to stretch your legs and enjoy the nicer weather.
Try getting out to Cane Creek and just take in the atmosphere the first time around. Look at both the campground area and the day use area to see which place you find more scenic. The next time you can choose a path to explore. The campground area has five trails ranging from .2 to 2.2 miles, so you can start with the shortest. The day use area has six trails, and they range from .1 to 3.4 miles. When you pick a trail, don’t forget to include the time back in your plan–or select a trail that loops you back to the beginning. The first few times, just get a feel for what it is like to be out there and don’t worry about the distance. It isn’t a contest, and it should be enjoyable!
