Dr. Croland’s Approach to Medical Weight Loss
Dr. Croland believes that sustainable weight loss requires more than a prescription — it requires a comprehensive understanding of each patient’s metabolism, hormones, body composition, and lifestyle. At Learn2Lose, every treatment plan begins with a thorough medical evaluation and InBody body composition analysis, giving the clinical team an objective baseline to work from. As a dedicated weight loss doctor in Charlotte, Dr. Croland combines clinical expertise with personalized care that telehealth services simply cannot match.
Dr. Croland was an early adopter of GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy for weight management, integrating semaglutide and tirzepatide into his practice well before these medications became household names. His clinical experience with GLP-1 medications, combined with his background in obesity medicine, allows him to prescribe and manage these treatments with a level of nuance that telehealth platforms simply cannot replicate. Dosing adjustments, side effect management, and long-term maintenance planning are all handled in-person at every visit.
For patients who are not candidates for GLP-1 medications, or who prefer a non-GLP approach, Dr. Croland offers a full range of alternatives including phentermine, lipotropic injections, metabolic support protocols, and nutrition-focused programs designed to achieve lasting fat loss while preserving lean muscle mass.

Dr. Croland’s Personal
Experience with Losing Weight
Dr. David Croland has been very open about his own weight journey as he found himself approaching 200 pounds in his late 30s. After years of late night bad eating habits while working as an urgent care physician, Dr. Croland realized his 5’9″ frame could not withstand his growing waistline and decided to reverse course by implementing the very strategies he now prescribes: cutting calories, exercising 3-5 times a week, and shifting away from the low-fat dogma. Within three months, he dropped 30 pounds, inspiring him to found his weight-loss clinic Learn2Lose.
