I gave up on New Year’s resolutions a long time ago. For about 15 years, I’d made 15 or so, promising to eat right, exercise and lose 20 pounds. How did that work for me? Well, for the past five years, I haven’t made any promises. I ate, and I gained weight until I was at my highest weight ever. I was tired. I was depressed. I was unhealthy, and I was fat. I weighed 50 pounds more than I did when I was 9 month’s pregnant and over 70 pounds more than I did the day I got married. I never imagined it would come to that.
So in January, 2013, I didn’t make a New Year’s resolution. I made a “New Life” resolution. I searched the internet for weight loss* programs. Turns out, I had tried every one of them. Except for Learn2Lose. So I called and made an appointment for an initial visit.
The staff was great. I felt so comfortable and welcomed. It was a learning experience and a wake-up call. I was certain it would be more than I could afford, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how affordable it was. I started right away and began steadily losing weight. With private—no weighing in or meeting in a crowd—weekly nurse visits, and monthly visits with Jean Marie, I received steady encouragement and positive reinforcement to continue toward my goals.
Since January, 2013, I’ve lost 56 pounds*. I am close to my goal, and I feel great. I know with the support I get at Learn2Lose, I’ll reach that goal.
